Counter/timers can be used for applications such as pulse counting, frequency readings, quadrature encoders, pulse generation.
Analogue input products are often multi-functional, often with on-board counters as well as analogue I/O. If you require 2 or fewer counter inputs along with other types of I/O channels you may also wish to look at the multifunction analogue input product range.
