The USB-7204 is part of the USB-7000 series of data acquisition products, designed specifically for DAQFlex, Measurement ComputingÕs new OS-independent protocol that allows DAQ devices to be programmed with a simple message-based interface.
The DAQFlex protocol greatly simplifies driver and application development, because all DAQ operations are programmed through a common command interface, which is composed of a consistent, extensible firmware interface and an open-source, cross-platform API.
The USB-7204 has eight single-ended or four differential 12-bit analogue inputs, two 12-bit analogue outputs and one 32-bit counter. In differential mode, there are eight software selectable input ranges between ±20 V and ±1 V, and in single-ended, the range is ±10 V. Sampling rates up to 50 kS/s.
Included accessories: USB cable and a CD containing the DAQFlex software API, DAQFlex Firmware Architecture, a Windows® installer file (msi), and a Zip file containing installation files for Linux operating systems.
"With reliability a key concern, we chose a name we could trust and the USB unit was a low-cost item that has proved very effective." Gordon Roxburgh, Volunteer Engineer, Brooklands Museum
"USB output has really made life easier on insutrumentation projects because you can simply swap from one laptop to another with minimal fuss. On this sort of operation that gives us extra confidence." Stephen Kemp, Manager, GBG Structural Services
